Fava beans are pulses and highly interesting as a plant-based supplier of proteins. Having a significant production per hectare combined with over 30% proteins, this crop has high future expectations. Meatless developed with fava beans for three years now and presented this highly interesting textured product in the market in 2019. We expect a range of fava bean products to be introduced in the next years, both hydrated and dehydrated. Among them coloured varieties, chunks, and high protein varieties. Fava beans are performing excellently in all vegetarian and vegan food and offer a new variety in raw material in those categories.
